Melchiorgarden is known as a farm since the early 1700-century. The farm is situated as number two from the fjord, in the village of Norddal.

As one of the three goat farms still in operation in Norddal, we cooperate in maintaining the summerfarm Herdalsetra, where the goats are on summer pastures. Here we hire "milkmaids" to take care of the milking and looking after the animals from end of June and until start og September. On the summerfarm we have a small traditional cabin for hire.

Goatmeat is a local tradition, and April is high season for this. Goatkids are slaughtered either spring or autumn. Cured meat are most popular at Christmas and Easter, but is available all year round

In recent years we have planted a lot of raspberries. Torunn's raspberry jam has become very popular, and from late July through August it is also fresh raspberries at Melchiorgarden.
